Hi! My name is Xinchen and I am a second-year Ph.D. student in the Computer Science Department of University of Maryland, College Park. I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. Marine Carpuat. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathemetics from New York University with the summa cum laude graduation honor (Top 5%) in May, 2023.
My research interests lie in Large Language Models (LLM), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and general machine learning (ML). Right now, I am focusing on enhancing the performance of large language models (LLMs) in style transfer and machine translation tasks and across multilingual contexts. I am also interested in areas including reinforment learning, optimization, etc. During the past years, I have worked with Prof. Lisa Hellerstein and Prof. Artur W. Dubrawski. If you have similar research interests with me and want to have a chat, feel reach to reach out!
